Nevada Water Partners to Attend Trump Rally, Seek Federal Support for Colorado River Water Solution

For Immediate Release — Tuesday, October 13, 2026

Proposal for Southwestern Water Security

For Southern Nevada, this is more than an infrastructure issue. It's about securing a sustainable water future for generations to come. We believe this proposal deserves serious consideration at the highest levels of government.

Dr. Aury Nagy, Nevada Water Partners

LAS VEGAS, NV – Representatives from Nevada Water Partners, LLC will attend President Donald Trump's campaign rally Wednesday in Bullhead City, Arizona, hoping to bring attention to an ambitious proposal aimed at addressing the long-term water needs of Southern Nevada and other communities dependent on the Colorado River.

The group hopes to engage President Trump or members of his administration to discuss potential federal support for a regional water infrastructure project designed to strengthen water security throughout the Southwest.

The proposal centers on developing a large-scale desalination facility in California, supported by participating Southwestern states. Under the concept, desalinated water would be supplied to California in exchange for an equivalent allocation of Colorado River water rights, subject to necessary agreements and approvals.

Nevada Water Partners is exploring a multibillion-dollar financing strategy involving international investment, local government bonds, and private capital, with ongoing operational costs supported by water sales through participating authorities.
